Vivo Malaysia has officially launched its new V20 SE. It’s their latest mid-range smartphone but the specs appear to be quite similar to the Vivo S1 Pro.
Pricing and availability
The V20 SE is available now in Malaysia for RM1,199. You can find it on Vivo’s official store. It is available in two colours – Gravity Black and Oxygen Blue.
Sporting a slim and lightweight design, the V20 SE measures 7.83mm thin and weighs 171g. It comes equipped with a 6.44″ FHD+ (2400 x 1080 pixel resolution) AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio.
Instead of a rear or side-mounted fingerprint reader, the V20 SE comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor just like the V19.
In the camera department, the phone features a triple-camera setup on the rear. You get a 48MP main camera coupled with a 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP bokeh camera. It should be noted that the ultrawide camera also doubles up as a macro camera, allowing you to get as close as 2.5cm to capture subjects like dew drops or flower petals with ease.
Not limited to just capturing photos, the V20 SE is also capable of recording up to 4K videos at 30 fps.

Flipping the phone around, Vivo has opted to use a small notch on the very top of the display to accommodate the 32MP selfie camera. The front camera features modes like Super Night Selfie, AI face Beauty, Pose Master and Selfie Softlight Band.
Internally, it comes powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage. According to Vivo, the device will run on its Funtouch OS 11 interface overlay that is based on Android 10.
To keep the lights on, it has a 4,100mAh battery that charges via USB-C. It also supports Vivo’s 33W Flash Charge technology that Vivo claims can recharge the phone up to 62% in just 30 minutes, or a full recharge in just under an hour.
In case you were wondering, the V20 SE does come with a 3.5mm headphone jack, allowing you to plug in your favourite pair of wired headphones.
The launch of the V20 SE comes just five months after Vivo released the V19 locally in April. Vivo has still yet to release details on the standard V20 model, but we expect to hear more about it in the coming months.
Just to recap, the Vivo V19 with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage was launched in April for RM1,699. It features a 6.44″ Super AMOLED display and it runs on a Snapdragon 712 processor. At the moment, the V19 is now going for RM1,499.
